Differential Diagnosis

I get the humor in this post and feel guilty if I ever presented this way, but here to encourage you. Doctors are very brilliant and saves millions of lives DAILY. However, they are humans just like us and we all make mistakes.

When I say, “DO YOUR RESEARCH,” I’m very serious. We were given many different diagnosis’, so it was only natural to question each of them. I created this chart to further pursue differential diagnosis. I’ve also added why I believe they hesitate diagnosing malacias, which is what my child has and is doing so much better because we are stopping ALL medications and using daily airway clearance.

Reasons I believe they hesitate diagnosing malacias.

1.) They’ve been told that children grow out of them

2.) Very intimidating to risk telling patient that no medication is the route, since incorrect diagnosis could result in death.

3.) Bronchoscopies are used for diagnosis, yet the camera pops open the malacia during the procedure.

4.) Most patients have been given oral steroids before bronchoscopy; therefore, decreases inflammation and evidence of malacia.
